Lacquerware is one of Japan's most ancient and respected crafts. Requiring absolute patience and the utmost attention to detail, its production is both time consuming and repetitive. These tea trays and bowl were made over the period of one year, and served as a learning exercise in both the craft itself, as well as the importance of tradition and perfection.
